How RealSalary collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
Data Controller
RealSalary.app is published by Vanille, based in France. For any question regarding your personal data, you can contact us at: contact@realsalary.app.
Data Collected
We only collect data you voluntarily provide via the salary share form (job title, experience, country, city, salaries, quality of life rating). No personally identifiable information (name, email, full IP address) is stored for anonymous shares. The forum may store an email address if you choose to connect via email, as well as your Google name if you use Google authentication.
Purpose of Processing
Collected data is used solely to: (1) display shared salaries on the Community page, (2) enable forum discussions, (3) improve our internal salary statistics. We do not use your data for advertising or selling to third parties.
Legal Basis
Data processing is based on your explicit consent (anti-robot checkbox) and our legitimate interest in providing a salary transparency service. For European users, the GDPR applies in full.
Retention Period
Anonymous salary shares are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Forum account data (email, Google name) is retained until account deletion. You may request deletion of your data at any time by email.
Your GDPR Rights
Under GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise them, write to us at contact@realsalary.app. We respond within 30 days maximum.
Cookies
RealSalary uses only strictly necessary technical cookies (session cookie, language cookie). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, but some features may be affected.
Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party advertising, analytics, or social network services that would collect your data. All salary calculations are performed client-side: no simulation data transits through our servers.
Security
Stored data (SQLite database) is hosted on a secure server in France. Passwords (if applicable) are hashed. We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access.
